Going with the cabinet idea. Drill the pegs into the doors so when you open them the spools are out where you can see them. Be sure to allow for sing ( short spools).
  • Plastic cleaner
A company called Mohawk makes a wax and silicone cleaner that works well when Armorall has been used.
  • Sewing square/small radius corner help
I was taught to re-sew the corners a second time. The second time the needle welt foot will naturally sew closer to the welt.
  • Amphicar convertible top
I have seen quite a few of them but almost always with the top down. The creator of the place in Disney with them live/lived by me and had a bunch of them at his Galaxie drive in. Steven Schussler also created Rain Forrest Cafe. Maybe Fred knows about them. He is close to that area.
  • Amphicar convertible top
Never done one as they are not that common unless you are at Disney World. But I did find this.https://amphicar770.com/threads/tips-for-installing-the-convertible-top.6752/
Even online photo's show a loose fit.
  • door panels and interior trim pieces
The only thing I know of with those sharp points that hold fabric is used in furniture and is called Ply grip. It does not have the channel in it. It is Available from most fabric supply companies. https://www.fabricfarms.com/UP82.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIor33gKGf2gIVXrbACh1N_AJTEAYYASABEgLsuvD_BwE

  • What’s the most profitable work?
I do seat repairs for used car dealers and replacement covers for Newmar motor coaches 6 hours two seats $600. I could work on those anytime.
  • Boat seat foam and glue
Boat interiors are subject to three things that determine the life of the interior besides weather. Mold, bird crap and Deet. Take a bug spray with high deet content and spray a puddle on some marine grade vinyl. It will get gummy in no time. I recommend to my customers to never spray bug spray in the boat. Keep them clean and covered and they will last 20 years. My boat is 22 years old and only one seam has opened. On the drivers seat of course. I also have a 22 year old boat cover which I treat twice a year with water repellant. This year I had to resew the seams as the thread finally gave out. btw it is stored outside in the winter.
  • 1974 Cadillac Eldorado scissor top convertible.
Before I even start this job I would make sure the doors open and close properly. These cars are sooo big that they tend to fold in on themselves. Rusted frames tweek everything. If you can't find a manual contact me and I can send you one. 320-524-2030
  • How much material
Pleats and channels use at least 25% more material, don't forget to allow for them.

Whatever you bid is not enough.
  • Where to buy original foam replacement for truck?
Use the seat shop all the time for trucks to replace worn drivers seats. The covers are a good match (after you clean the seat backs). Yes they have better pricing. Compared to a dealers wholesale price they are cheap.
  • Seat Heaters
Jim what do they charge per seat?
  • Seat Heaters
The company is easy to work with. Seat heaters are too.
  • Seat Heaters
They are $70 each seat for a two position (high/low) switch. They are very easy to work with.
  • Seat Heaters
Not sure on who's cost more or less. But what I like about Check Corp. is they are vehicle specific. They know if the seat covers are glued to the foam. Something you may not know until you take the seat apart. They allow for listings and will let you know of some vehicles where you can't install a seat bottom heater without effecting the airbag.
  • Marine Cover Patterning
If you are using support poles allow for a little play in the material. Once you raise the poles the holes should be at about the level of where you bind the edge of the material. If you are using a product like Top Notch you can rub the weave and the holes go away. I have had holes in other materials that bother me. On some I take a pin and put a drop of super glue in the hole.
  • Marine Cover Patterning
Fit right fasteners. They are pins that go over the snaps and allow you to pull the material tight and mark where you need to cut and pleat. A must have for any snap cover, be it a boat or a pick-up tonneau. Available from many sources. Rochford Supply carries them but I have found them cheaper.
  • Customer
I always tell them it will take twice as long to do then I plan on. If I think I can do it in a month I tell them 2 months. This way when I call them in a month they feel special. Wow that was quicker than I thought. The ones who want it yesterday are always the ones who when you call to tell them it is done, say I will try and pick it up in a week or two.
