Hi Steven - in the Upholstery shop I work our main focus is marine. We primarily use 71 series staples. While it will require you to purchase a new pneumatic stapler, there will be a benefit in I believe a greater selection on staples. Goggle the staple and see what you find. I would also suggest you buy a long nose gun.

Any suggestions on a gun? I do boats.

I usually use 1/4" staples and put them in at an angle in thin stuff. Use stainless staples for marine.

I use 1/4 stainless also. I have taken a small sander to the staples on the back when they poke through.

I'd love to know where to get 1/8" staples as well. Smallest I've seen so far is 1/4"

I buy 5/32 staples from an industrial staple supplier called the staple stop. They supply the upholstery and construction industry.

Smallest we use are 4mm which google tells me is 3/16.Also use 6mm = 1/4 and 10mm = 3/8.
