I also use a Pfaff 1245 machine and haven't had much luck with the contrast thread, maybe someone can help, but I think this was kicked around on another post. I gave up trying but would still like to use the 240 thread if possible. It's been awhile since I tried it , but if I remember right, it was skipping stitches.

Throw it away and start using Serafil. You wont regret switching.

Serafil is a better quality thread. I managed to get my consew 206rb1 to sew QTC 270. Had to use #69 thread in the bobbins and mess with the top tension quite a bit

Customs by Vos told me they use 210-size thread with a size 23 needle. Their stitches always look great

switch to Groz Beckert needles...they are much more accurate and better than Schmetz...the needle is to big for this machine as well as the thread...go down with the size and the problem will be solved...

are you saying go down with the needle size or the thread size?

I've never used serafil before... what vendor are you getting it from?

Hello Anthony, go down with both...you can also check the instruction book of the machine and check what they recommend as the biggest needle size to fit in the machine for sewing without problems. All machine supplier have this. The size of needle you wanted to use is for the heavier versions of sewing machines like Duerkopp Adler H-type (heavy type) for example...

so I just set up my account with Amann. What thickness thread are you using for the thick contrast stitch look and what needle size. And if you dont mind me asking, what sewing machine are you currently using?

I sometimes use the 270 (10) Most of the time I use the 210 (15) I have a Juki 1541 that the 210 will work on but not the 270. I also have a 1508NH that the 270 works beautifully on. I have found the 270 does not work on the medium weight upholstery machines like the 1541. They werent designed to handle that size thread. Machines designated "heavy" can handle the heavy thread. I use a #22 needle for the 210 and a #24 for the 270. Hope this helps. You will love the thread.

i have the same machines. funny I noticed the same thing. where are yo getting the 210 thread from?

I was wondering what is the smallest needle size I can use with 210. I got a 25 but feel it’s leaving to large of holes. Maybe I’ll try the #22 like @Steve Ingram is saying

"UPDATE" serafil was the correct answer! I quess the QTC brand is just crap. I set up my Amann account and bought some serafil and its been sewing like a dream! No issues whatsoever. The only drawback to Amann is that if they dont have the color i. Stock you have to purchase a minimum of 5 spools to get the color you want. They sent me a color chart but they don't stock all the colors and it takes about three weeks to get the order if its not i stock. They really only stock uour standard colors like black, white, beiges and just a few other select colors. But say you need a lime green or orange etc. Plan to buy 5 spools and weight three weeks for it. Keep that in mind when planning and estimating your jobs
