Greetings All! Working on a 74 corvette interior. Specifically the door panels. I’ve studied this thing 10 ways to Sunday and cannot decide the best approach. My 15 yr old techniques may not give the sleek look I’m going for (1/4” foam, cut n sew, glue). Should I just paint it with Sem coat? Is Sem coat even a thing anymore? I haven’t stripped it off yet. Advice from current pros would be most appreciated!

You could certainly clean, prep and paint the door panels with SEM paint. They also sell them brand new from Eckler's and Corvette America

The complex design of a Corvette door panel is difficult enough to restore, much too complicated to make from scratch. Al Knoch Interiors has by far the best reproduction Corvette interior products for the money. If you need something custom made, call them and they can make it for you.

Well the owner doesn’t want replacements. I was thinking something like this. Gold and burgundy vinyl on thin sew foam and the logo embroidered in place of all the top stitching detail of the original. Excuse the rudimentary artwork.
