@Cody Lunning Instead of sewing a diagonal seam (which does make for a nice square corner) have you tried doing a neat 'fold' with the binding, then stitch over the top of the crease. It will lay down nice and flat and maintain that square corner.

I just peel the old cover off, carefully... Not an easy task... The foam will get torn up a bit, so we typically sand it smooth and then apply a thin layer of foam to compensate for what was torn off during the removal of the cover.
