It is sad to hear that another smaller upholstery supplier is closing down. We are here in Tempe, AZ and over the last few years a number of upholstery shops and suppliers have closed down. It might be a good article idea to track the number of closures across the country over the last 2 years and get an idea for the reasons.

I've thought about that quite a bit. Even for our personal patterns, it would be nice to digitize them, but haven't gotten around to it.

It would be very cool of Katzkin if they open sourced all those patterns they are sitting on. They could start a GitHub page and share them with the rest of us.

It really is sad that the majority of "car guys" that have spent decades learning about cars as a hobby, still have no idea how difficult interior work is on cars and the skill that is needed. They do an amateur job of installing one premade seat cover and say "Hey, why are you charging me so much money, you're job is really easy!"
