  • Damaged vinyl
Here at Pyramid Trim Products we do run into that problem. It happens at the end of the roll. We call those marks 'end of the roll marks'. From your post it appears you have tried various methods to get the marks out of the vinyl. I am sorry to tell you Jim, that sometimes those marks will never come out. It is more likely that when the goods were manufactured is when the marks were made into the vinyl. Depending on how long the roll is in storage before it is sold for installation can allow a lot of time for those marks to form permanently into the goods. You may be able to iron out the marks with a clothes iron, we have had some success with that. But again, it does not always work. Another possibility would be to ask the supplier to wrap paper around the cardboard tube before rolling the goods onto the tube. Basically have a buffer between the material and the tube. Anything that keeps the end of the vinyl from touching itself will help. Otherwise call the supplier, explain the situation and ask for replacement.

Kent Acrysol is just as good, if not better than the 3M product.
