For all of us that have learned the disaster steaming leather CAN cause, especially perforated. I came up with a trick that is very helpful. Now of course I am talking about steaming the face I would never do it under. This works great on old leather and perf. I slather on leather cream making sure I pack the holes very well. Then I run the steamer over it quickly never letting the head stop. When done correctly you will remove the wrinkle and not get the shriveled up spot. Try it.

I had a few stubborn wrinkles on some very expensive connolly leather seats I've just covered for a coachbuilt bentley. I've been a bit wary of using steam and/or heat gun though I tried both.Today I braved it and got an iron out, covered the leather with a piece of calico and ironed away..............it worked.Certainly something I might try again.

We used a Hoffman steamer installing Katzkin. I think the trick is to have some type of insulation on the wand. There was some type of small radiator hose on ours. I think the burning comes from direct contact between the metal and the leather/foam. We also used heat lamps. Or the sun in the summer.
