Have you tried heating the indentations with a heat gun or putting the covers out in the sun for a few hours?

Have applied heat and light steam. I'm in the process of making the covers, great leather other than the impressions of the leather edges from the roll up. I'm hoping they will smooth out once it is installed. Thanks,
