  • A Huge Thank You
Thanks for your kind words Fred. It means a lot to us!
  • 1959 ford Fairlane 2 door
I'm not sure where to get the seats or door panels buy I get my headliners from Acme Auto Headlining Company. They have nearly all makes and models and they make a great product
  • KEYSTONE SEWING MACHINES
Being from Philadelphia myself, I’ve dealt with Keystone Sewing many times in the past. They were a great company. I was very sad to hear of the passing of the owner Greg and the subsequent closing of the company. Gregg sold me my first machine, he was always good to me.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble dealing with NC. I have a personal relationship with Mal at NC and I can honestly say he’s a great guy and goes out of his way to help people. I can put you in direct contact with him, if you’d like. I’m sure he’ll work out whatever problems you’re experiencing.
  • KEYSTONE SEWING MACHINES
Are you talking about Keystone Sewing in Philadelphia?
  • Leather roll indentation
Have you tried heating the indentations with a heat gun or putting the covers out in the sun for a few hours?
  • Tools!
    ↪Bryan Owens
I have one of those too. I love it!
  • Jeep Zippers
Are you talking about the zipper around the door windows? If so, I just stay away from them because you can't remove the skeleton frame from the canvas. My sewing machine foot won't lift high enough to clear the frame. But if you have a long arm sewing machine with a foot that lifts high enough, it's doable.
  • Attaching phantom top shells.
I like using black urethane There's usually some hidden screws in the front a few inches from the windshield and along the quarter panel underneath the chrome moldings
  • vulcanized bench
You can try to carefully skin the cover off of the foam, (some people have said that steaming the foam helps) or you can upholster your cover on top of the existing upholstery but it's always better to remove it when possible
  • Best machinists chair
I agree with Tim. I like the chairs made by General Fireproofing Company
  • Looking for Bosch Foam Saw
Consew makes a foam saw that looks just like the discontinued Bosch ones. Unfortunately it's just as expensive as they were too https://www.amazon.com/Consew-Blades-Complete-Rubber-Cutter/dp/B07JDMTD7G/ref=asc_df_B07JDMTD7G/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=242139030186&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9297697877629921270&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9059153&hvtargid=pla-569181571579&psc=1
  • Best and worst estimate stories?
I once found foot fetish porno mags under the driver seat of the car. I don't know why the customer didn't remove them before bringing me the car. He had to have known that I would remove the seat from the car to repair it.

    Hey Reg. Welcome back!
  • 67 Cadillac Deville Front Bucket seat Leather seat covers
Try Auto Custom Leathers. They have a lot of the old Caddy paterns
  • Where to buy Mercedes leather and perforated leather
    ↪Adam Gabriel
I agree. The prices on seat bottoms are roughly $250 -$275. I charge $425-$450 material and labor installed. However, for some reason the passenger seat bottoms are really expensive from the dealer. Apparently, they want to sell you the whole seat pan and foam for the passenger side when all you want is the upholstery. So, on the passenger sides, I'll replace panels or reupholstery them to make the job more affordable for the customer.
  • Katzkin install hrs.
At my shop we charge between $1300 to $1500 for a two row vehicle Katzkin install
  • Karpet king 812k
    300 Bucks! That's a sweet deal.
  • Headliner Adhisive
Most shops in the US use DAP Weldwood. I'm not sure of it's available in the UK though.

  • mb tex for class 2009
Coast to Coast leather has it. Keep in mind the you can buy the upholstery from the dealership for relatively cheap. I used to replace panels on Mercedes seats until I called my dealership and found out that I can buy an entire base cover for $260. Now I just buy the covers from the dealer and install them.
  • 1/8th hedliner
Like Robert said the 1/8" shows all the imperfections. For some common colors you can buy 3/16" to use on the headliner and matching 1/8" for the sunroof shade
  • First top to bottom custom - '56 chevy truck - Timeless Auto Trim
    Nice work Jamason!
  • Door panels 74 Corvette
You could certainly clean, prep and paint the door panels with SEM paint. They also sell them brand new from Eckler's and Corvette America
