  • QTC Contrast thread issues
Hello Anthony, go down with both...you can also check the instruction book of the machine and check what they recommend as the biggest needle size to fit in the machine for sewing without problems. All machine supplier have this. The size of needle you wanted to use is for the heavier versions of sewing machines like Duerkopp Adler H-type (heavy type) for example...
  • what is landau foam ????
Go with plastazote if you re from Uk and you ll be fine...I was using plastazote for the last 15 years and no problems...just be careful with the glue and heating gun....cheers...
  • Missing video
it s not worth it...it was just a promotinal thing for Vetron or should i say Typical or Global...;-) This machine can not sew by itself...
The design is very nice...but with this machine (everything is electrically controled) you can control the production from your phone if you want...just think of that...
The guys who developed it (in Germany) have been in R&D for Pfaff but then the chinese bought them and this guys developed something to survive as departement...thats it...
  • QTC Contrast thread issues
switch to Groz Beckert needles...they are much more accurate and better than Schmetz...the needle is to big for this machine as well as the thread...go down with the size and the problem will be solved...
  • Skiving seams.
Just a small tip from the side...you can skive diagonal or as a step...depends which look you prefer...if your margin is 8mm then skive 10mm (you need to fold the leather) and then make a top stitch...and skive slowly to be accurate...the more you put attention to details in every step the better the result will be...it s not up to how fast can you do something, it up to how clean can you do something...
  • Recaro/VW/Audi plastic listing and clips
    Hello Eric,

check at OKE or Coba Plastics...I am pretty sure one of them have them...Good luck...
  • Hello!
    Hello,
you can check online at Amann too....and also kunkler.info have them...they are supplier for coats threads...
  • rainbow multi color thread source in the USA?
    Hi,
Amann has some multicolor threads...We have used some for a project and it has the color code 9250A...It is a Serafil thread...
  • Thread tension
You are right, you have two tensions....the one you are talking about is only for the situation when you are sewing normal and there is a bulk of leather or a cross section....so in this case to sew over the short double layer of leather you can push the second tension (the looser one) to sew over the bulky section...otherwise it could happen that your thread will break due to double or triple layer of material in a cross section...I hope I could explain it to understand...

    Hello Guys...
Baby powder is a great stuff....you can also use it to peel of the ugly foam from headliner...i mean this ugly glueing foam on headliners...espacially US cars headliners where the cloth came down..I dont know how to describe...but if you put baby powder on it, you can easily rub it down...;-) ....
  • Alternatives to Alcantara
Search for Dinamica...(Mercedes and Mini are using it for example....) or Comfort (from Mah.de in Germany with an online shop) ...Both Materials are very good competitors to Alcantara...For both there are different backings depends on what you want to use for...
  • Best door panel substrate
that´s a cool idea....was it vacuum formed and heated?..to me looks like that...so in that case build a wooden sample and vacuum form it over....
  • retiming VW T5 seats and similar...
OKE is making profiles for most of the german OEMs with a huge offer on profiles...and like Keith Mayne wrote COBA plastics is coming more and more into the OEM market too..;-)
  • Stitch Designs
FYI: Westtrading from Netherlands is also selling some templates, not from acryl but from some kind of plastik. and they are around 40 $. the advantage of that plastic is it can not crack/brake like acryl because they are flexible.
  • Steering Wheel Stitching Threads
    Hello guys,
my name is Kruno and I am from Germany and work in a R&D Trimshop for a German OEM. I can tell you the most of the german OEM´s use the Serabraid line from Amann. You can have them in different thicknesses and also waxed as an option. The threads are great to work with. Cheers
  • Thoughts on cutting foam
    Hello together,

there is also a nice cutting/attachment table to cut angles to foam. The table is made for the Bosch GSG300 foam cutter which most of us use. I saw the table on a presentation of the company ED Ernst Diekgraefe GmbH & Co.
    Ebay link is http://www.ebay.de/itm/Dammstoffzuschneidetisch-fur-Bosch-Schaumstoffsage-GSG-300-Elektro-Druckluft-/112595184078?hash=item1a373229ce:g:K~MAAOSwmmxW1wav

It is a really nice guide to cut foam to an angle.
